Watch the Performance: Variation 1 online guitar lesson by Tierra Negra from Magic Gypsy Chords & Rhythms
For variation 1, play the F# minor as a barre chord at the 2nd position, then play the E9, the D with an F# in the bass - this chord is also used very often in other styles - and for the last chord you shift the D with the F# in the bass one fret down. Take care to mute the A- and the E-string, while sounding the open D-string.
But there is one difference in the last bar! I shorten the arpeggio, this gives me more time to move back to the first chord. So I leave away the last (p)-(i)-(m)-(i)-(a)-(m) in the end. Please notice the accents and make sure that your (i), (m) and (a) fingers move to the higher strings when you get to the 3rd and 4th chord.
