Watch the Tears For Jerusalem: 4 online guitar lesson by Tommy Emmanuel from Little by Little
I've always been moved by the struggle in Israel and went to Jerusalem myself once, and had a beautiful day there. It's very interesting to see the many religions and ways of life existing side by side. There's been so much conflict there. A lot of things happened over the years that really shocked me, that made me feel very sad. I also must say that I was really moved by Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion of the Christ. I was inspired and deeply moved by the music. The music in the movie is very Arabic sounding, very authentic and incredibly moving. I didn't think that I could write something like that, but I wanted to write something that if you sung it, that it may sound like a kind of Jewish folk song, a sad Jewish folk song. There's a lot of beautiful music in the Jewish culture. That was my idea behind the song. I wrote the main theme of it quite a long while ago and then I got the idea to write the kind of bridge, the crescendo part of the song, a little bit later, after I'd written the first part. I tried to think like I was writing music for a film. NOTE! Tab & notation is not available for this course - it is currently pending licensing.
