Watch the Tenochtitlan online guitar lesson by Stephen Bennett from Harp Guitar Repertoire
I really do love the melodic climb up out of the B minor. You're learning one of the techniques that I use over and over in both my composing and arranging: the frequent incorporation of harmonics into the melody. I love to weave them into the fabric of the melody. The bell-like sound of them next to the regular notes is beautiful to my ears. And we use some harmonics on the sub-bass strings here too, giving us that gorgeous low bell sound, soon after the very high harmonics at the 5th fret of the guitar.
With the frequency range it has, the harp guitar really is sometimes a bit like a grand piano – and so much easier to carry!
