In Bars 23-30 an entire new ‘feel’ to the tune begins as you enter a phrase that threatens to be only slightly happier than the more moody opening. In the strumming portion for measures 26 be sure to avoid string 1. The piece was written without a first string on the guitar and this maintains the initial intent of the tune – to write a tune without a 1st string. Bar 28 should be the only time string one is included (I didn’t want it to feel lonely or left out!)
