Watch the Rainbow At Night online guitar lesson by Richard Gilewitz from Fingerscapes
One of the keys to playing this piece correctly is in a sense almost to allow it to play itself. There are a multitude of hammer-ons and slides in particular that allow this to occur. In addition, although most of this fragment of the existing full length tune is based out of a C chord with the left hand, a great deal of right hand shifting from positions one to two occurs.
It is very important to utilize the right hand fingerings suggested so as to avoid your fingers tripping over each other. This may appear to be a simple tune but this main theme can prove to be somewhat tricky if you are willing to play it precisely and with both accents and fingering accuracy. The full piece can be heard on my recording, "Thumbsing".
