Watch the Muted Percussive Finger Strum online guitar lesson by Peppino D'Agostino from Acoustic Poetica
In this video your left hand is in charge of playing the melody on the bass exclusively on the 6th and 5th string. Simultaneously your right hand index finger plays a series of 16th notes on the open first and second string by alternating a down stroke with the right index nail, followed by an up stroke with the flesh. This steady rhythm is performed while damping these two strings close to the bridge with the side of your right hand. Please also note that the right hand index finger is positioned diagonally in relation to the strings. I will use the very same percussive technique later on in the course when I perform my original composition "Street Pulse".
