Watch the Am Track online guitar lesson by Rich Maloof from 50 Acoustic Guitar Licks You MUST Know
When we moved the bass downward from a D chord (on Lick 9, "Descended Heaven"), we held the D firm and let the bass shift all the harmonies. Here's a similar technique based on Am but now some subtle (and not-so subtle) changes in the chords above the descending line make for harmonies that are a little more sophisticated. Also note that we go off the scale here to use chromatics. Jimmy Page used a similar descending bass to fuel "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You."
