Watch the Contrary Motion online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from 50 Acoustic Blues Licks You MUST Know

In this turnaround lick, the standard ascending bass line and standard descending melody lines are treated in a more syncopated way. Syncopations are either hesitations or anticipations. The first note (first string open E), in the melody, is a hesitation. The open B in the melody and the second fret 5th string B in the bass are an example of anticipations. There are many different ways to play the rhythm with this lick. Look for your own twist on it.
