Watch the Stop Sign online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from 50 Acoustic Blues Licks You MUST Know
A great addition to our solo blues vocabulary is the "stop-time" chorus. Example 18 illustrates a stop-time chorus using 7th chords. After playing several choruses, you can break up the flow and add some interest using one of these. In this example, the melody centers around the G#. The best place for the melody to go on the four chord is to the G natural, which is the flatted 7th of the A chord.
