Watch the Country Five online guitar lesson by Joe Dalton from 50 Acoustic Blues Licks You MUST Know

In Country Five, I'm using the major pentatonic scale. Listen to Honky-tonk Moon by Randy Travis to hear more of what I'm trying to do here. The fingering of the major pentatonic is the same as the minor pentatonic, only at a different fret. The tonic(E in this case) will be found in a different location since you started on a different fret. Once you get used to the new location of the tonic, you'll be able to freely solo with this scale. Then try adding a blues note here and there to mix the scales.
