The chords here are Am-G/B-C -D.
You can never underestimate the power of silence in music - and this pattern is a great example of how the space in between our strokes gives us a funky, grooving feel.
Because of that space, it's great for giving a lyric and/or melody a chance to stand out. The first group of 16th notes make their statement because of the abrupt right hand mute. As you get more relaxed with this pattern, let yourself throw in some of those extra 16ths - but - make sure they add to the groove and don't just fill in that beautiful, empty space!
