Watch the Add Rhythm and Groove online guitar lesson by Ravi from 1-2-3 Songwriting
Now that you have chord movement for the verse, figure out some rhythm and groove to make your song move. You may have established the chorus groove to the point where you know where you want to stick to it, so assume that is going to stay and evaluate the most complimentary groove for the verse. You may want to make the verse feel more laid back so that when you get to the chorus, it pops. Keep your groove simple so that you don't box yourself in too much when trying to write the melody. It's like salt -you can always add more later but if you put too much in right off the bat, you can't taste anything else! So start groovin' and check that off your list!
