New School Fingerstyle Blues introduces you to fresh new grooves, licks and chord voicings, many inspired by the playing of Professor Longhair, James Booker and other blues piano masters. You'll learn how to hold down syncopated, two-beat and walking bass lines; add jazz and blues voicings up the neck; incorporate double stops and chromatic blues licks; use rakes, hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides; slip in blues and jazz turnarounds; apply 9th and 13th chords to blues and rag forms; and play blues ballads with an after-hours feel. New School Fingerstyle Blues features 40 interactive video lessons, text overviews, notation, interactive Power Tab and is presented in TrueFire’s multi-media video player for Windows and Mac, which features zoom, frame advance, looping and other useful instructional functions. Here's how New School Fingerstyle Blues is presented … Students are first presented with a video performance of an original new school fingerstyle arrangement with both the right and left hands clearly visible. Hamburger then breaks down the arrangement, note-by-note, move-by-move, providing tips for pulling off the material and new school techniques. With the Power Tab, students can "see" and "hear" the notation played out. Tempo can be adjusted without changing pitch and any section can be looped. TrueFire's instructional player puts video, text descriptions, supplemental tips, standard notation and a dozen controls at your fingertips. |
