The roots of this can be tracked back to Chuck Berry. If you start with the Johnny B. Goode rhythm guitar part, add some drive with the pick, stir in a little syncopation and mix in some double stops with the middle and ring fingers then simmer over a blues progression, you have cooked yourself up some contemporary country rock electric rhythm guitar.
