    Question Learning SWAT Blues Course

So i have started learning the SWAT Blues course and slowing it all down to get it 100% right, there is loads to learn here.

So far so good. However, I have found that there are notes in the Pdf tab missing of the first solo (Diamond Blues). I've been slowing it down using Transcribe and i can see Carl is playing other notes.

So far ive just been changing my own printed tab sheet.

My question is (being a newbie)

    1. Is there a moderator who would like to know of this (the transcriber?)
    2. Are the Pro tabs sometime different to Pdf??
    3. Has anyone else started this course and have found the same thing.

    Cheers

Welcome to the forum first of all.
In answer to your questions. Is there a moderator who would like to know of this? The answer is yes. I'm that guy. There are about fifteen other guys here who are that guy as well which gives us a lot of coverage for problems and issues. Now what I'll do is send this information to the guys in charge of this and they'll get back to us here. They should be still sleeping off NAMM, those guys get to go to all the great parties. But they will address it and let us know if that's an issue or a 'feature'. You know, Carl could have done his own transcribing, that could be what he intended - something like that.
Question 2. I have no idea if the Guitar Pro Tabs are done differently, but we'll ask.
Question 3. I have not started this course but you've asked that question and if someone has they might look up long enough to post in here. I'm sure a lot of folks are going through this course right now, not all those folks are on the forum or will find this question.
Welcome again to the forum. I'll send your questions right up to Ren and Brad and thanks for posting!

    Welcome to the forum curemat
I've done most of the lessons shortly after the course came out. IIRC there is a few errors in the tabs on the PDF files.
I didn't study the tabs much anyway, because I think this course is more about Carls different takes and approach on soloing over the progressions, than actually trying to play like him note for note.

What I found nice was that there are PDF's for the breakdowns marked with the timing in the video.

In my opinion it's a great course, and like you mentioned - there is lot to learn from it.
I hope you enjoy it despite whatever flaws there may be in the tabs.

Anyway Gadlaw is on the case and if not the transcriber Glen Morgan is seated in the hot chair soon, at least some of brass will look into it

Thanks for your replies and for getting on to it so quick.

I am sure that it will help me in my quest to transcribe more in 2012.

I have to echo what Johnny is saying ... we do try to get as much as we can BUT the tab is really more about getting you int he neighborhood with a course like this (few mortals can ever even get close to what he's doing). Haha!

We do however nail the transcriptions exactly on other courses where the specific notes are critical to the lessons.

Meanwhile, if you send us some specific examples of bad transcriptions, our guys would be happy to fill those in and update the tabs.

    Thanks man!
