    Default Gear Theory

I was recently sorting through my library and came across a couple of articles by Andy Ellis from GP in 1999. The articles give some great THEORETICAL math based insight into digital delays and are filled with some really cool applicable and useful examples. I was going to post scans of the articles but thought I might go offside copryright wise. A thorough search of the GP site proved fruitless but the interweb led me here... Ghost in the Machine

Its a lesson available from Truefire and it is worth looking into if you want to gain some deeper insight into delay pedals.

Obviously, these aren't the only pedals and this isn't the only way, to create ambient music. But it might be a good launching pad for your own creativity. :-)

Nice thread Goerman....you never know what you might find in TF vaults.
Some really good follow up posts as well. I have 3 delays and a looper so I love these posts. Will have to watch them at home later.

    Delays I have
    Hardwire DL8
EHX Stereo Memory Man with Hazari
The one used by K.t.Tunstal on Black Horse and a Cherry Tree
    (senior moment)
    Digitech Jamman
Too soon we grow old, too late we grow wise

"I once played notes so fast that light emanated from the strings whereupon, I saw God.... who then told me to relax and start playing music."

"You know, once you've had that guitar up so loud on the stage, where you can lean back and volume will stop you from falling backward, that's a hard drug to kick." David Gilmour
