View Full Version : Suggestion: Other Courses By Same Instructor

I had an idea that might make looking for courses in the course catalog a bit easier...Let's say I was looking at Acoustic 3D by Vicki Genfan & UI wanted to see what other courses Vicki has with Truefire. I know she did the Acoustic Survival Guide (which is on Truefire TV but not in the course catalog)...so if there were a link in each of her course descriptions I could purchase all courses by her. (Why isn't the Acoustic Survival Guide in the course list anyway? :wow: )

This would be great especially for Brad Carlton fans since he has MANY courses with Truefire but are in several different genres/subject areas...it would save on looking around & possibly mission out on a good course....

Opinions?

Well... TrueFire already has that going on.. BUT, it's hard to find. ;D

Since I couldn't find anything like that from the home page, I clicked a random TF course, it happened to be "50 blues Rock Guitar Licks" by Jeff McErlain. So I was looking for anything that would somehow link/show his other courses.

http://truefire.com/blues-guitar-lessons/50-blues-rock-guitar-licks/

On that page, I see Jeff's name is "hyperlinked" so I visited the page:

VOILA!!! That's what I wanted.. :)

http://truefire.com/educators/jeff-mcerlain.html

Now I thought, hey TF must have the same things with other TF artists, so I used the same address, but just changed the name to Brad Carlton.. and BINGO!! :yeah:

BradCarlton (http://truefire.com/educators/brad-carlton.html)

ChrisBuono (http://truefire.com/educators/chris-buono.html)

RobbieCalvo (http://truefire.com/educators/robbie-calvo.html)

VickiGenfan (http://truefire.com/educators/vicki-genfan.html)

AndyAledort (http://truefire.com/educators/andy-aledort.html)

It would be useful for TrueFire to have a page dedicated to showing each instructor's courses... maybe I'm dumb, but I couldn't find it from the home page..:siffler:

Well now someone has a lot of spare time don't they! lofl :siffler:

But you're right it should be more obvious & it's a simple fix by just taking the links you provided & change the link name to "Other courses by..." But a least we know the capability is there!

Thanks Jim!

Hey guys, if you go to the TrueFire Home Page and look down the left side of the page under the heading BROWSE MORE, the third listing is EDUCATORS. If you click that icon, it takes you to a photo spread of all the TF educators and if you click a particular instructor, you will see all their courses.

I did not see the other course Mike mentioned that is by Vickie so I am guessing the list only has courses available for sale on disk/download etc.

Hope this helps.:shades:

So from the Main page... on the left side under the 'Browse More' heading there is a link for Educators... Lists and has links for all the instructors.

It's a good thing, listing the instructors that way.

Thanks for that tip too! But don't you think that if you were on an instructors course page it would be easier to have a link there? People may not think to go back to the Home page to look. I've always found that ease of navigation really is a big factor in keeping me on a web page. If I have difficulty working my way around a site I leave it. Truefire has improved their site tremendously from when I first joined here...I think now it's just fine tuning everything to perfect it even more. It seems that the site designer has thought of the many suggestions that get brought up...however many times they seem to be "hidden" from view...

If you get a chance, post a link to the Acoustic Survival Guide. I can't find it in TFTV. Sounds cool! You may have found one of those "yet to be released" jewels.

I appreciate the link and I bookmarked it so I can find it again. I still can not find the course going into TFTV. When I hit the back button, it takes me to the Concert Hall section, but I do not see the course in there. Is that where you found it? in the Concert Hall section? I must be missing something, but the link you sent works like a charm. Thanks again.

Vicki wanted me to watch a couple of videos from this course but I didn't see it in the course catalog. So I searched for it & it popped up...I couldn't figure out why it wasn't in the course catalog? It seems like a great course!

Looks like a good course. Maybe it's still in the chute... Thanks for the link.

At the button of every page in the footer of the site you will find a link to all educators http://truefire.com/educators/. As for Vicki's new course "Acoustic Survival Guide" this is not released and that is why you can't find it.
