Ok, I just have a question, but this type of question may pop up in this category at any time I would guess. So here it is:
Who is Lee Ritenour? I received an e-mail from him or a promotion company representing him and since it came to my junk mail box, I didn't look at it closely. Today I saw a contest (you guys should check out the link and put your name in the hat for a freebie any way) in Guitar Player on-line where you can win a copy of his "6 String Theory" and/or a guitar. The "6 String Theory" looks like it may be a collection of performances from some other guitar greats. I followed the links to his web page and this guy is awesome. I know I don't get out much, but I may have been living in a cave. I think I should know this guy (his name sounded familiar and I thought at first he was a local guy), but he has won grammys or at least nominations. He is an excellent player and his web page contains free pdf guitar scores, but I don't recognize the tunes.
I thought of nominating him, but I question if he would qualify since it looks like he has been around a good while and may be popular in the jazz world where I am a stranger.
I am having major thought blockage here so help stamp out ignorance: tell me what you know about Lee Ritenour. Here is the link to his site and the contest:

Ritenour is really well known, as Larry Carlton or Metheny....he's in the mellow jazz side, but he also contributed to Pink Floyd's The Wall.
He is well mentioned in Tommy tedesco's book because he worked with him when lee started in the business.

Yeah, I got the same email... wonder which company he's affiliated with.. cause I don't remember signing up to a Lee Ritenour mailing list. :siffler:

BUT, I checked out the album, and I think it's incredible, so many great guitarists on one album, it's a guitarist's album, that's what it is! :yeah:
