Arlen Roth is the premiere telecaster player playing mostly country, rockabilly and jazz...but he can play it all believe me! He created the Hot Licks video series where various artist teach you their chops...Arlen worked a lot with Danny Gatton before Gatton committed suicide

Aye, Aye, again. Arlen is one of those fairly unknown giants of the tele. He was one of my early heroes from the Hot Licks productions and the Nashville Guitar Book he authored.
The guy is immensely talented and generous with his time and knowledge. I was blessed to catch him at a free workshop in DC back in the 80's I believe. He is an incredible teacher who really loves his students.
Shortly after I met him at the workshop I was saddened to learn that his wife and daughter both were tragically killed in a car crash. As nice a person as he was, I knew that he was devastated by their loss. I debated as to whether I should send him a note, since I didn't really know him, but decided that a truly heartfelt note was appropriate.
He is a totally class act as an artist and a human being and totally deserving for this honor.

Woah nearly missed Arlen jeez spent so much time in front of the TV and the VHS "back in the day" he was the only one you could find that touched on RnB, and his playing turned me on to so many country, Alt country players...very influential on me was Arlen
