Hello again! In this installment on the uses of Triads again we are looking at the stacking concept but this time we are looking at combining lateral with vertical movement. The examples included are the just the beginning in the literal hundreds of different ways one can combine shapes and build lines that are non diatonic and spacious.

The practicing concept is also simple – start slowly and try to visualize shapes and shift positions and let your ears guide you to how the notes should resolve. This ultra slow practicing concept is also used by some sax players as they work on improvisation. As you become better at building lines using triad shapes the process will get faster and faster. Stick with it and have fun with the process!
